Tripwire Interactive Partners and Digital Lode will publish a new stealth and espionage game for VR, Espire 1: VR Operative. This title will bring with it a new movement system, VR within VR.
This new system eliminates dizziness for most people, and allows movement with total freedom within the virtual environment, being able to bend or climb.
In Espire 1, inspired by games such as Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell or GoldenEye 007, we will become an agent that operates remotely with the robot hardware Espire model 1.
The experience is for a player with story mode with individual missions and scenario missions for short challenges.
The game uses the voice of the user through the integrated microphone of the VR viewer, to give orders or perform actions. It is possible to attract the enemy through the noises you make.
Among the varied arsenal of weapons and gadgets available to you, there are: explosives, tranquilizer guns or spy cameras deployable on mission.
There is a global leaderboard with a score based on time to complete the mission, stealth, ammo waste or eliminated enemies. The artificial intelligence of the enemies responds to sight, sound, physical posture, speed of movement, coverage and relative location of the player.
It is currently available through the Steam Alpha launch channel in its prototype phase, with six of the 200 phases of the game.
It is expected to be released in August of this year 2019, for PSVR and Oculus Quest, along with the versions of Vive, Rift, Index and Windows Mixed Reality.
