Recommended graphics for the new VR viewers

This year 2019 is full of new releases of virtual reality viewers for computers. Although a balanced configuration of the components of our equipment is necessary, today we will review the recommended graphics cards for the main devices.


Having a GPU according to our viewer is crucial to enjoy a good virtual reality experience.

In general, although our graphics card meets the minimum to use our device, we will not enjoy a good VR experience.

The popular graphics cards Nvidia GTX 970, GTX 980 or 980 Ti start to fall short for most viewers that are coming out in the market. The same thing happens for the AMD Radeon RX 570 and 580.

Although they are an economical and low consumption proposal for the first generations of viewers, for some of the new ones they do not meet even the minimum requirements.

The recent cards of the 16 series of Nvidia GeForce (1650 and 1660) usually give good performance, and meet the recommended specifications for most devices. The performance of the 1660 are usually equal to that of the 1070.

Nvidia’s new 20 series have the RTX 2060, whose power is comparable to the 1070 Ti, but at a better price and with new technology. If what we want to enjoy the best experience with all the parameters to the maximum we have the RTX 2070,2080 and 2080 Ti (in addition to the GTX 1080).
